The entourage effect is a widely studied and accepted phenomenon in cannabis science. Essentially, it is where the wide range of compounds found in the cannabis plant work synergistically to enhance the benefits of each individual compound, such as CBD.

This is one of the key reasons why Full Spectrum CBD Oils tend to be much more effective than cheaper oils made using pure CBD crystal. Given that the body only tends to absorb 10-15% of CBD that is ingested orally, one should always choose full spectrum to ensure they get the best possible outcome.

The potential health benefits of full-spectrum CBD are vast. Full-spectrum CBD Oil can be used as a tool to supplement our endocannabinoid system (ECS). This system is present in nearly every animal organism and controls a range of bodily functions such as mood, memory, pain, appetite, and sleep.

The amount of CBD oil needed can vary from person to person, and some people are more sensitive to CBD than others.

Because of this, we always recommend starting with a low strength and a low daily dose, such as 2 drops of our 5% full-spectrum oil twice per day, morning and evening. Whether full-spectrum CBD oils or other full-spectrum products will get you high or not depends on the THC level. Most full-spectrum CBD products in the UK only have minute traces amounts of THC that will not have any psychoactive effects.

However, full-spectrum CBD oil from unreputable sources that have not been tested properly could have elevated levels of THC that could potentially cause a psychoactive effect. If in doubt, request a certificate of analysis (COA) to verify the THC content.

Broad-spectrum CBD products typically have all traces of THC removed from the final product, but the process of doing so also reduces the levels of other minor cannabinoids that are present in cannabis plants.

Some broad-spectrum products still have an impressive range of cannabinoids. But in many cases, broad-spectrum products contain CBD with almost undetectable levels of other minor cannabinoids such as CBC or CBG.

Full-spectrum CBD products typically have negligible, trace amounts of THC (<0.05% with our products), but also boast reasonable levels of other cannabinoids. The wider range of compounds in the product leads to greater efficacy than broad-spectrum CBD.

However, both CBD oil types are more effective than oils made with CBD isolate. Full-spectrum CBD oils made with organic hemp seed oil are our favourite, but MCT oil is also commonly used.

Refined CBD extracts intended for consumption are currently classed as novel foods in the UK. The controlled substances act also states that legal CBD products must contain less than 1 mg of THC per container.

By taking CBD drops under the tongue, the effects can usually be felt within 15 minutes, whereas capsules may take up to one hour.

CBD itself can modulate various receptors in the ECS, which can lead to an increase in anandamide and change how the ECS works. Unlike THC, CBD does not directly bind to CB1 and CB2 receptors.
